Five Questions
What made you choose your major?
I chose my major to build myself into becoming a catalyst for positive change in the energy sector as we continuously become more conscious of our energy practices.
What student organizations and activities are you involved in?
Currently, I serve as the Public Relations Chair in the Association of Energy Engineers. I was also an active board member in the Omani Student Association in the past and I continue to get involved in the IM Soccer League.
What is the best class you’ve taken at Penn State and why?
“EGEE 437 Design of Solar Energy Conversion Systems” because the class paired us with real-life projects that were underway and allowed us to communicate with the project partners to construct a design according to their needs.
What is one piece of advice you would give to prospective students?
Always check your emails! There are countless opportunities and scholarships being promoted through emails and you will eventually land on something that aligns with your goals.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in college so far?
Never be afraid to reach out and ask questions, your peers and faculty want to see you succeed and they will do what is in their power to help. All you have to do is ask!
